By design notifications for Watch wearers go to the watch instead of the phone.

They only go to the phone when:

  • The phone is open in use or
  • The watch is on charge or not being worn and locked

(Whatever you do, you cannot have notifications on both devices, with the exception of phone calls which by design ring on both.)

Some people cannot feel haptics or hear sounds well from the watch, and wish to force all notifications to the iphone at all times.

It can be done but must  be done for each and every app…

First in iPhone’s Watch app, My Watch tab, Notifications, find the app.

If it is an Apple app like Messages, tap the app, check Custom on, then tap Notifications off. This means they are off in the Watch, not the phone

For other apps like Whatsapp, scroll down to them and simply turn them off

Now repeat for all the apps you want to sound on the iphone.
